The uses
1) we use this tense to express habitual actions: the things that we do regularly.
Example, I go to school everyday at 08:00 a.m
2) we use it to express general truth.
-When we heat ice it melts .
- the earth turns around itself.
Forms
*A)
3) We don't need to change anything when we want to conjugate the verb with (I, You They , We) we just remove the "to" before the verb and place it as it is .
Example : I often (to visit) ..... visit ... my grandparents.
4) we have to add either "s" or "es" if we want to conjugate the verb with 《she, he, it》
ES : we add "es"
* when we have verbs end with {ch / she/ x/z /s /so/ o}
Example: _she usually (to watch)....watches... horror movies alone.
- he rarely ( to go ) ...goes.. to school alone.
* we also add "es" to verbs that end with "y" but before that "y" there must be a consent not a vowel. So, first we need to replace the "y" with an "I" and then add "es" , ofcourse with 《she, he, it 》 only.
Example: he always ( to carry) ..carries... heavy books.
- every Monday she(to study)...studies... Spanish.
* B) negative form
* example:
-She ( not/work) ....doesn't work .. on weekends.
- we (not/believe) ... we don't believe.... in the existence of vampires.
*C) questions:
- 5) simple present indicators:
The indicators are the most important parts in conjugation process for all the tenses. They work as alarms to show you in which tense you should conjugate the verb.
We have : often / usually /seldom /rarely / sometimes/ occasionally / regularly /
= every { day / month / year / week / day / night/ second / minute / hour .....
Hence, whenever we come across one of these indicators the only thing we do is to conjugate the given verb into the simple present.
Note: these steps my be very functional
Know :1) the doer
2) the indicator
3) type of the verb
